Two schools, a project

BFA and Macke-school cooperate in a project Romania.

BFA Student Alumni & Staff Alumni: Open Letter

BFA Alumni and Staff Alumni—will you stand together with BFA students and August Macke Schule students to put a roof over the heads of some orphans in Romania in a first-ever joint project between the two schools of Kandern? Will you support the initiative of current BFA students? TEN Bucks! Can you give $5 to buy a handful of nails or a concrete block? $10 for some roof tiles or $25 for a roll of insulation (yeah, it’s been cold in Oradea this winter). $100 buys a pallet of plywood!

BFA students went across the street and invited the 10th Grade German students at August Macke Schule to join together and form a “Homes for the Homeless in Romania” partnership with Habitat for Humanity. We now have a team of 21! We wish you were here to help hammer nails while hanging from the rafters side by side with all the students. Actually, you can go to the Blog to see pictures of the two schools working side by side at the Hieber’s store in Kandern bagging groceries for donations. The townspeople of Kandern gave 1,251Euros that cold Saturday morning 2 weeks ago…and the Mayor started the brushfire of enthusiasm by throwing a 1,000Euro bill into the pot!

We only need another 5,000Euros to pay for ALL the building materials and transport. Please say “YES” for any number of awesome reasons. Give $5 or give $105 but please do it today. Let’s encourage these kids! This is gonna be the house that Kandern built and we’d like you to join this building crew with whatever donation you feel led to give.

Pathway to joyful giving: Go to the BFA website or TeachBeyond (formerly Janz team Ministries) website and you'll get a tax deductible receipt. Whatever the size of your helpful gift, give "hilariously". Check out 2 Corinthians 9:6,7. TeachBeyond; POBox 6248; Bloomingdale, IL 60108-6248

We’ve all shouted “FALCON PRIDE!” at one time or another. C’mon; Pick up your shovel (checkbook) and make some noise!

Thanks everyone. God Bless. You’re invited to join the team.
